Nelson Jean-Francois is a passionate and engaging evaluation expert. He has shown this through his commitment to support both large and small non-profit, community-based and other agencies in understanding, sharing and using data and evidence to advance their organizational missions and have an impact in their communities. We worked together on a nation-wide project to support the immigration and settlement sector in using digital tools to bridge communication gaps between agencies and newcomers. Following this, we partnered as consultants to develop a measurement and evaluation learning (MEL) system and build capacity for a Black youth mental health project in a small non-profit in Montreal. With many agencies oftentimes strapped for time or capacity to incorporate MEL systems into their daily work, he manages to listen, adapt and steer partners and stakeholders toward a greater culture of learning that considers their specific organizational and community context. He carries out well-received training, includes the voices of staff and stakeholders and offers meaningful data collection, performance measurement and tracking tools.
